Privacy Policy
Gujarati Calendar (Android package: com.techyandroider.gujaraticalendar)
Effective date: May 14, 2026
Last updated: May 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Techy Androider (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the Gujarati Calendar mobile application (the “App”). It is intended to meet transparency expectations under the Google Play Developer Program Policies, including the User Data policy, and to help you complete Google Play’s Data safety section accurately.
This document reflects the App’s behavior as implemented in the project (local calendar data, optional reminders, Google Analytics, and Google ads). It is not legal advice; consider independent review for your jurisdiction and store listings.
1. Who we are
The App is published by Techy Androider. For privacy inquiries about this App, contact us through the channels listed in Section 12 (Contact) or via your Google Play store listing support options.
2. Summary
- We do not require you to create an account to use the App.
- We do not collect precise GPS location; panchang-related times use a city you choose from a fixed list and its approximate coordinates, processed on your device.
- We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate usage (for example, screens viewed and feature usage).
- We show ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob); Google may use device identifiers and related signals to deliver and measure advertising.
- Reminder-style local notifications may be scheduled on your device based on your settings; we do not operate a separate login-based messaging service in the App.
- Calendar, festival, and related content are primarily provided from data stored locally in the App (including a bundled database copied to your device).
3. Information collected and how it is collected
3.1 Information processed on your device (not sent to our servers)
The following are handled locally on your phone or tablet unless a third-party SDK (described below) independently transmits data to that provider:
- App preferences stored with the platform’s key–value storage (for example, display theme and notification toggles for tithi, panchak, vinchhudo, and similar reminders).
- Selected city (when used in features that read your saved choice) for sunrise, sunset, choghadiya, and related calculations using predefined coordinates—not continuous location tracking.
- Local database containing calendar, festival, panchang, and related content, loaded from the App’s assets as needed.
- Device time zone information used to schedule local notifications at appropriate local times.
3.2 Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect app activity in aggregated form, such as:
- App opens and screen views.
- Events reflecting how features are used (for example, dates viewed, city changes, theme changes, notification settings changes, sharing actions, and content views such as vrat katha titles as implemented in the App).
Firebase may collect identifiers and diagnostic data as described in Google’s documentation. See: Firebase Privacy and Security and Google Privacy Policy.
3.3 Advertising (Google Mobile Ads / AdMob)
We display banner and interstitial advertisements served through Google’s advertising services. Google may process data including:
- Advertising ID or similar device identifiers (subject to platform settings and your choices).
- IP address, device and app information, and interaction with ads (for example, impressions and clicks).
Google’s use of data is governed by Google’s policies. See: Google Privacy Policy and AdMob policies. You can adjust certain ad personalization settings through your device (for example, “Reset advertising ID” / “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android, and similar controls on iOS where applicable).
3.4 Network access
The App and integrated SDKs may use network connectivity so that analytics and advertisements can function, and so the operating system can reach Google’s services. We do not operate a public “profile” or social feed inside the App based on that connectivity.
3.5 Sharing and links
- If you use Share, content is sent through your device’s standard share sheet to the app or destination you select. We do not receive the contents of that share on our own servers solely from that action.
- If you open external links (for example, the Play Store or a website), those services apply their own privacy policies.
3.6 Meta (Facebook) App Events
when you install the app from a Meta advertisement, we may receive aggregated or device-level signals (depending on your consent on iOS) so Meta can measure installs and improve ad delivery.
We do not sell your personal information. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (e.g. “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or advertising settings on Android). For questions, contact us at the address listed on this page.
4. Permissions (Android)
Depending on your device and version, the App may request or use permissions that include:
- Notifications — to show reminders you enable (for example, tithi or related alerts).
- Exact alarms / schedule exact alarm — so reminders can fire at intended local times where the platform requires this capability.
- Receive boot completed — so scheduled reminders can be reconciled after the device restarts, where supported.
- Vibrate / wake lock — so notification alerts behave as expected on your device.
We do not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera, or SMS for the core features described in this policy.
5. Purposes of processing
- To provide calendar, panchang, festival, and related cultural information.
- To remember your preferences and improve usability (theme, city-related calculations, notification choices).
- To measure engagement and improve stability and features (analytics).
- To monetize the free App through advertising.
6. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate bases such as:
- Performance of a contract / steps at your request — providing the App you ask to use.
- Legitimate interests — for example, understanding aggregate usage and securing the App, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — where required for certain analytics or advertising signals, as obtained through the platform or Google’s consent mechanisms where applicable.
You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, subject to limitations imposed by the platform.
7. Retention
Locally stored preferences and databases remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App. Analytics and ad-related data retained by Google are subject to Google’s retention settings and policies.
8. Security
We rely on platform security and reputable SDK providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we choose widely used tools (Firebase, AdMob) with industry-standard practices, but we cannot guarantee absolute security of data processed by third parties.
9. Children
The App is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your country) as its primary audience. Advertising and analytics may be subject to additional requirements if you designate the App for children in Google Play; ensure your Play Console settings, ad requests, and disclosures match how you actually target users.
10. Your choices and rights
- Device settings: control notifications, advertising ID reset/opt-out where available, and app permissions.
- Uninstall: removes local app data from your device (subject to the platform’s behavior).
- EEA/UK/Switzerland and certain other regions: you may have rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Many requests related to Google’s processing should be directed to Google as the independent provider of analytics and ads, or exercised through Google’s tools where available.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are commonly defined in state law in the narrow sense of selling a mailing list; however, digital advertising may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under some U.S. state laws. You may use platform opt-outs and Google’s resources for advertising choices.
11. International transfers
Google may process data in the United States and other countries where it operates. Such processing may be covered by Google’s certification mechanisms, standard contractual clauses, or other safeguards as described in Google’s privacy documentation.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated through the Play Store listing or in-app notice where appropriate.
Questions about this policy or the App’s data practices: use the contact information on your store listing or visit https://techyandroider.com/privacy if maintained for this App.
